The Perfect Headshot
The perfect headshot will do three things. The first is show who you are when you are having a great day. It will show what is unique and interesting about your personality. Finally it will engage the viewer in an original and creative way. Impact relies on all of these qualities being present, miss one and they will be passed by.
A session with me begins in my studio which is flooded with natural light. This will be followed by at least one outdoor location. Natural light provides a beautiful and honest light, giving agents and directors an image that reflects exactly who you are.
And this is the key; casting directors and agents do not want to meet someone who doesn't look like their headshot.
Together with a soft, flattering light, a great headshot will not only be a beautiful image but will also show the real you.
The most important feature you have is your
individuality. I like to understand who you are,
to take the time to capture natural candid shots.

I cannot stress the importance of up to date fresh, honest and professional head shots. The first chance at an audition comes from viewing a head shot. If your head shot is not professional then the casting director's first impression would be "inexperienced" or worse "amateur."
The next important point is to keep your head shot up to date with fresh images that represent the changes that have occurred through time. This of course applies to the obvious changes in hair colour or style but there are other changes that happen to appearance such as height, body shape, aging etc. Kids in particular can change so much in one growth spurt.
